Garden Futures: Black History Month Tour

Tuesday 14 October

Join curator James Wylie for a tour of global stories in Garden Futures

The story of the garden - a designed space where humans and nature collaborate - is one intertwined with race and social class, with colonialism and land stewardship.

From the Wardian case to the writings of Jamaica Kincaid, to Cheick Diallo’s Ségou chair, this curator-led tour of Garden Futures highlights how gardens have long served as spaces of resilience, creativity, and celebration for Black and minority ethnic communities and individuals.

This event is in partnership with the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) as part of Black History Month Scotland 2025.
