Scottish musician and fashion model Lucia Fairfull is announced as ambassador for new exhibition, Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show with tickets going on sale today at V&A Dundee.

Pursuing a creative career that mixes music with fashion, Lucia is the frontwoman of Scottish indie rock band Lucia & The Best Boys with new single, ‘Lonely Girl’ released this month, and is also well-known for collaborating with major fashion houses including Alexander McQueen, Dior and Valentino.

Catwalk, making its UK debut at V&A Dundee when it opens on 3 April celebrates the phenomenon of the fashion show. It looks at how fashion shows have evolved over the past 125 years from small salons in Paris to today’s global live-streamed experiences and reveals the creative process that goes on behind-the-scenes.

A few of Lucia’s fashion highlights include closing the Dior catwalk show set in the gardens of Perthshire’s Drummond Castle streamed to audiences across the globe in 2024 and shooting a fashion campaign for Alexander McQueen at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom.

The new Catwalk at V&A Dundee campaign, created by Glasgow-based creative agency Too Gallus and styled by Gareth Valentino, features Lucia Fairfull wearing a series of fashion looks inspired by designers featured in the exhibition including Balenciaga, Dior and Charles Jeffrey.

Currently preparing for Lucia & The Best Boys gigs at Islington Assembly Hall and Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom in May, Lucia Fairfull is looking forward to supporting V&A Dundee’s new blockbuster exhibition and said:

"Fashion shows bring together clothing, music, lighting and performance to create immersive experiences, very similar to the process I think about for our own Lucia & the Best Boys gigs. “I'm very proud to be working with V&A Dundee on this amazing project as I'm always inspired by what's going on culturally in Scotland and really looking forward to going along to see the finished Catwalk exhibition when it opens in April."

Tara Wainwright, V&A Dundee said: “To have Lucia join us an exhibition ambassador is a dream. As the rising star of the Scottish fashion and music scene she embodies the energy, attitude and dynamism we want to convey. We are proud to have drawn together the most exciting creative talent in Scotland to work on the campaign, creating a distinct visual identity for the exhibition’s only UK showing.

Tickets for Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show are now available from the V&A Dundee website Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show . Members and under 18’s go free.

Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show open from 3 April to January 2027 is a new exhibition by V&A Dundee and the Vitra Design Museum.
