
Gift Membership FAQs
How long is gift Membership valid?
Gift Memberships are valid for up to 12 months from the date of purchase. Once the gift recipient has redeemed their gift code, their Membership will remain active for a further twelve months.
Can I purchase a Membership on my gift recipient’s behalf?
No, to ensure we comply with data protection legislation, any Membership purchased as a gift should be purchased as a gift Membership that can be redeemed by the gift recipient at a later date.
How do I send a gift Membership purchased online?
Gift Memberships purchased online are issued as a digital gift Membership with a 9-digit code which you can choose to send to yourself or schedule to be sent to the gift recipient. When sending to the gift recipient, select ‘Send to Recipient’s Email Address’ and choose the date you would like the gift to be sent.
I would prefer to gift the recipient their Membership welcome pack and card. How can I do this?

Can I buy a gift voucher for the recipient to put towards the cost of an exhibition ticket?
No, our gifting offer is exclusive to Membership and any in date purchased gift Memberships can only be redeemed towards a Membership. You can redeem your Membership in the museum, online or by contacting the Membership team by phone on 01382 411 660.
Can I set up my gift recipient’s gift Membership to auto-renew next year?
We are unable to set up gift Memberships to auto-renew as this can only be applied to an active Membership subscription. A gift recipient can sign up to auto-renew their Membership for the following year by logging into their online account and adding their card details.
